Look at the countdown chain now!!! Less than 10 days. Everything is pretty much in order except I have to plan a talent class to teach to the kids. So excited and nervous!!!

The Countdown Begins...

Today I made a countdown chain. Only 25 days left!!! It currently hangs above my bed but I love that it's right there reminding me. Thanks for the idea Maren. Check out the pictures!

On the inside I wrote something to do that day that will either help me get ready for India or learn more about the amazing country I'm going to.

Also my money was due to Rising Star on the 12th but if you'd like to make a donation, I will still be accepting them. Thank you so much to everybody who has donated. I appreciate it and I know the kids in India will too. :)

Visa... Finally

It's been awhile since I've updated my blog but the visa thing didn't work out exactly as planned. I was hoping to get it within a week but when the place in San Francisco finally got my application they said I needed to change my application to an employee one since I'd listed volunteering with Rising Star on my application. A few days later after "clarifying" with them that I just needed a tourist visa my application finally went through to the consulate. Two days later I had my visa in my hand. What a relief!!! I'm so excited to go to India and when there were problems and it possibly wouldn't happen I was devastated. Thankfully all has worked out and on July 9th I will be on a flight to India. I can't even put into words how much this oppurtunity means to me. I know it will be life changing but I am so excited!!!! I love India and the culture so much and finally get to see it first hand. I've been reading books and watching movies about India but I'll be there in the flesh. I can't wait!!!
